AJMER SHAHI DEGH LANGAR BY CHISHTIYA SUFI FOUNDATION
"Inspired by the timeless message, 'You help others, Allah will help you,' our Chishtiya Sufi Foundation Ajmer embarked on a profound journey rooted in the teachings of Hz.Khawaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty (r.a). In realization of this sacred vision, on the 30th of October, we orchestrated a significant event at Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
The focal point of our endeavor was the grand degh, a cauldron with historical significance, generously offered by Emperor Akbar. This majestic vessel, spanning 37 feet in width, bore witness to the preparation of 4800kg of saffroned sweet rice, a symbol of communal nourishment and benevolence.
The Shahi degh, laden with 1000kg of rice, 1000kg of sugar, 200kg of ghee, and 200kg of assorted dry fruits, became a vessel of abundance and generosity. Following the niyaz ceremony, we shared this auspicious dessert with 50,000 individuals, transcending religious, caste, and gender boundaries.
In the spirit of communal harmony, people from diverse backgrounds partook in this sacred meal, taking it as a consecrated token (tabarruk). The essence of the event was not confined to the moment; it extended to packing the prepared meals for distribution to various villages. Each family received their share, embodying our commitment to alleviate hunger and spread the spirit of compassion beyond the confines of Ajmer Sharif Dargah."
